INCLUSIVE COMMUNITIES NETWORK CO-ORDINATOR

THE ORGANISATION:

AsIAm is Ireland’s National Autism Charity based in Blackrock,
Co.Dublin. AsIAm is a fast paced, growing organisation with a vision
to create a society where every autistic person is accepted “as they
are” – equal, valued, and respected. The organisation’s purpose
is to advocate for an inclusive society for autistic people that is
accessible, accepted and affirming. AsIAm works to support the
Autistic community and our families to fully engage in Irish life and
build the capacity of society to facilitate true inclusion.

THE ROLE:

AsIAm is seeking an Inclusive Network Co-ordinator, who will play an
integral role in supporting and expanding our existing Autism Friendly
Communities as well as our Inclusive Communities Network. This role is
best suited to someone who is EXCEPTIONALLY SKILLED AT BUILDING
RELATIONSHIPS WITH NETWORK PARTNERS AND CHAMPIONING THE PROGRESS OF
ALL THE AUTISM FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES TO ACHIEVE THEIR 3-YEAR TARGETS.

A core aspect of the role will be liaising with organisations,
building partnerships and providing advice and support to the
participating committees and championing the initiatives within their
own communities.

This role is integral to AsIAm as the Autism Friendly Towns initiative
grows the AsIAm footprint and offers a conduit for us to spread
awareness throughout Ireland. It has the ability to impact on the
growth of the Adult as well as the Child and Family Support
programmes. There is also significant potential to enhance fundraising
activities throughout the Republic. The incumbent will also be a key
driver working with the Lord Mayor to make Dublin an Autism Friendly
City.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Support current Autism Friendly committees and promote the
creation of new autism friendly committees throughout Ireland
* Help local communities to drive Autism initiatives through
education, support and advice
* Chair regular Autism Friendly Community meetings and Inclusive
Community Network meetings
* Grow the Inclusive Community Network to reach the whole of Ireland
with the objective to maximise AsIAm’s reach throughout Ireland –
be identified as the preferred inclusivity partner to represent the
Autism Community
* Support the development and implementation of 3-year plans within
each of the communities Liaise with other support structures within
the organisation to provide co-ordinated supports to communities
throughout Ireland
* Work closely with the Fundraising Manager and in partnership with
the communities to generate funds through split-the-pot events
* Represent AsIAm at the various launch events to promote autism
friendly communities
* Train committee members and key stakeholders within each of the
communities
* Maintain a database of all community interactions
* Promote the Autism Friendly Communities on social media,
highlighting successes and championing initiatives
* Co-ordinate activities with Autism Friendly Schools and Autism
Friendly Universities as well as other teams within AsIAm such as the
Adult Support and Employment, Child and Support and Community Support

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

* Excellent relationship building skills
* * years-experience in training development
and delivery
* Willingness to travel
* Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
* Previous work experience in the Autism or Disability sector is an
advantage but not essential.

CONTRACT DURATION:

This is an initial 1-year contract with the potential to extend.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

* AsIAm will offer a salary and benefits commensurate with the AsIAm
pay scale and experience.
* In addition to annual leave, the company traditionally offers
additional paid time off (company days) including a Christmas office
closure period. This is sanctioned annually at the discretion of
management.

WORKING HOURS:

The role is Monday to Friday, 9: * am to
5: * pm. The role holder is required to have a
degree of flexibility regarding working hours with the expectation of
some evening and weekend work.

LOCATION:

The role is based in AsIAm HQ in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Remote working
agreements can be requested and are at the discretion of the line
manager.
